Ultima Networks plc (`Ultima' or the `Company')

                                                   Trading Update

20 January 2009

The directors of Ultima Networks plc are pleased to announce that the Company continues to operate profitably through

its two divisions: IT Services and Green Technology Products. These divisions are respectively involved with the sale of

software  to  the legal profession and the development and sale of specialist electrical goods  and  clean  power

generation  resources  including solar parks in Spain and Italy. The Company has renamed  its  Products  Division  to

'Green Technology Products' division in order to reflect the increased concentration upon products in this area.

The  IT  Services  division is pleased to report the successful integration of JCS Limited's legal software  business

into  the Company's  IT  Services Division. The acquisition of JCS Limited in 2008 strengthened the  management  and

R&D capability  of the IT Services division and the resulting joint product development strategy is expected to  bring

a substantial  strengthening and enhancement of the software being offered and a growth in the Company's  market  share

for legal software under the Cognito brand.

The  Green  Technology  Products  division has seen a continued growth, particularly  of  the  electrically  assisted

bicycles which are marketed under the 'Powacycle' brand. This division accounted for 66% of Company's sales  in  2008

and 2008 also saw the introduction of a new range of cycles, under the 'Infineum' brand, which incorporate the latest

development  from  the Company's R&D team. The Company remains committed to a strong R&D effort  in  the  design  and

application  of  energy  saving  products and the expansion of the market for  the  Company's  products  through  the

establishment of a larger UK dealer base and growth of sales into the EU.

During  2008  the  Company  established an Italian registered subsidiary to spearhead  investment  into  clean  power

generation  by  building  and operating solar parks. The Company has acquired land in Southern  Italy  sufficient  to

construct  a 3MW solar power plant and is at an advanced stage in achieving planning approvals. The Company continues to

invest substantial effort in research and design of clean power generation technologies and expects to establish a pilot

100KW capacity solar park in Spain during 2009.

These  moves reinforce the Company's focus on achieving growth through a strong R&D effort in all divisions  with  an

increasing focus on growth through investment in green technologies.

The Company looks forward to announcing its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2008 in April 2009.
