It has come
to the attention of the Directors that a number of AIM regulated companies
including Ultima Networks plc, have been targeted by unscrupulous individuals
attempting to defraud shareholders. Shareholders
have been contacted by these entities offering to buy their shares in the
company for a hugely inflated price. The reasons given are varied however
the general theme suggests that a large company is contemplating a takeover of the
Company in order to secure intellectual property rights.
In order to complete the transaction the shareholder is
required to enter into a surety bond and transfer payment to them. Ultima
Networks plc is an AIM listed company therefore your shares can only be traded
through approved trading platforms, anything outside of these are likely to be
fraudulent. As a publically traded company there is no need to transfer any
money to sell your shares.
If you are contacted by anyone offering to
purchase your shares in the company (under the circumstances explained in this
notice) your Board advises you to
contact the FSA (Financial Services
Authority) who are the agency responsible for investigating Scams and
Swindles. The FSA web address is www.fsa.gov.uk or telephone: 0845 606 1234.
